About this recipe

This blueberry chia kefir smoothie is lightly tangy and made with honey and water. Blueberries add fruit sweetness and color, kefir provides a refreshing base, and chia seeds begin to thicken the drink after a few minutes. Honey balances the tart kefir and berries, while water keeps the consistency light. It works well for breakfast or a quick snack if you enjoy smoothies that gain more body as they stand.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • 250 ml kefir

  • 150 g blueberries

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 50 ml water

Steps

  1. Sort through and rinse the blueberries, then measure the chia seeds and set them aside.

  2. Add 250 ml kefir, 150 g blueberries, 1 teaspoon honey, and 50 ml water to a blender.

  3. Blend the kefir with the blueberries, honey, and water, adding the chia seeds near the end. Blend only briefly, just until the blueberries combine with the base.

  4. Let the smoothie stand for a few minutes so the chia seeds hydrate and swell slightly. Stir before serving and add a little water if needed.
