About this recipe

Tuna pasta salad is a light, chilled take on a pasta meal that also works well in a lunchbox. Short pasta provides a filling base, tuna packed in water adds protein, and cucumber and tomato bring freshness and juiciness. Yogurt makes a simple dressing that binds the ingredients without weighing down the salad. Rinse the cooked pasta briefly with cool water and drain it thoroughly so it does not soften the vegetables. Serve immediately or after a short chill, while the ingredients remain fresh and distinct.

Ingredients

Servings: 4

  • 220 g short pasta

  • 1 can tuna packed in water

  • 1/2 cucumber

  • 1 tomato

  • 150 g plain yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps

  1. Cook the pasta al dente according to the package timing, drain, briefly rinse with cool water, and drain thoroughly.

  2. Drain the tuna thoroughly.

  3. Dice the cucumber and tomato; remove the watery seed pockets from a very juicy tomato.

  4. Mix the yogurt with the mayonnaise, mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Combine the dressing with the pasta, tuna, and vegetables until everything is evenly coated.

  5. Chill for 10 minutes and serve.
