About this recipe

Strawberry yogurt cake is a soft, moist cake with a simple batter made from yogurt, eggs, oil, and all-purpose flour. Yogurt gives it a delicate texture, while strawberries add freshness, color, and natural sweetness. Oil helps the cake remain soft longer without frosting or glaze. Pat the strawberries dry and distribute them evenly so they remain visible after baking without making the center of the cake too wet.

Ingredients

Servings: 8

  • 220 g all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 200 g yogurt

  • 80 ml oil

  • 150 g strawberries

  • 100 g sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Steps

  1. Line the pan with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Stir the eggs with the sugar, yogurt, and oil, mixing briefly to keep the cake's texture light.

  3. Add the flour and baking powder and mix briefly, only until no dry streaks remain.

  4. Pat the strawberries dry, cut the larger ones in half, and gently fold half into the batter; arrange the other half on top.

  5. Bake the strawberry yogurt cake for 35–45 minutes, until the center is springy and a toothpick comes out clean.

  6. Let the cake cool in the pan so the strawberry juice has time to settle into the crumb.
