About this recipe
Kotlety mielone with potatoes are a classic Polish home-style meal made with ground pork and beef, egg, a soaked bread roll, onion, and boiled potatoes. The soaked roll helps keep the patties tender inside, while onion gives them a more pronounced flavor. Fry the patties over medium heat until browned on both sides and fully cooked through in the center. Served with potatoes, they make a simple, filling meal without an additional sauce.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
500 g ground pork and beef
1 egg
1 bread roll, soaked in 100 ml water and thoroughly squeezed out
500 g potatoes
1 onion
1 tablespoon canola oil (about 12 g)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Steps
Boil the potatoes for 18–22 minutes, until tender, so they are ready to serve with the patties.
Mix the meat with the egg, squeezed-out bread roll, finely chopped onion, salt, and pepper, only until evenly combined.
Heat the oil in a skillet. Shape the mixture into even patties and fry for 4–5 minutes per side over medium heat, until browned and fully cooked through in the center.
Serve immediately with the hot potatoes.
