About this recipe

Turkey patties with mashed potatoes are a simple dinner made with ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, and buttery potatoes. Turkey is more delicate than the meat used in classic ground meat patties, so it pairs well with smooth mashed potatoes. The egg and breadcrumbs help the patties hold together, while the potatoes turn the dish into a complete, home-style meal. This recipe is a straightforward way to make a filling turkey dinner without a long list of extras.

Ingredients

Servings: 4

  • 450 g ground turkey

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs

  • 500 g potatoes

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil (about 12 g)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps

  1. Mix the ground turkey with the egg, breadcrumbs, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, then shape into even patties.

  2. Heat the oil in a skillet. Fry the patties for 4–5 minutes on the first side and 3–4 minutes on the second side over medium heat, until browned and cooked through inside.

  3. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes for 18–22 minutes and make smooth mashed potatoes with the butter.

  4. Serve immediately with hot mashed potatoes.
