About this recipe
Mango-lime sorbet with mint is light, refreshing, and easy to make at home. Ripe mango, lime juice, and a little sugar syrup blend into a smooth, intensely fruity dessert. After freezing, briefly blend it again or break it up with a fork to lighten the texture. It works well when you want something cold and fresh without an ice cream maker.
Ingredients
Servings: 6
Sorbet
2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced (about 700 g flesh)
120 ml lime juice (from 3–4 limes)
80 ml water
70 g sugar
10 mint leaves
1 pinch of salt
For Serving
a few mint leaves
lime slices
Steps
In a small saucepan, heat the water and sugar just until the sugar crystals dissolve. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.
Place the mango, lime juice, mint leaves, and a pinch of salt in a blender. Pour in the cooled syrup and blend until very smooth.
Pour the mixture into a shallow container and place in the freezer for about 3 hours. After 45 minutes, stir with a fork, then repeat 2–3 more times to break up the ice crystals.
Scoop the sorbet into chilled bowls and garnish with mint leaves and a slice of lime. Serve immediately.
