About this recipe

Oatmeal with baked apple and cinnamon is a warm breakfast with a classic, home-style flavor. Apple, cinnamon, and raisins give it the aroma of a simple apple dessert, while oats cooked in milk make a filling base. Add the apple so that it softens slightly and blends well into the oatmeal. Honey enhances the fruit's sweetness, but add it only after tasting the oatmeal. Serve immediately, while the oatmeal is warm, thick, and fragrant with cinnamon.

Ingredients

Servings: 1

  • 80 g rolled oats

  • 250 ml milk

  • 1 small apple

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 teaspoon butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 1 tablespoon raisins

Steps

  1. Peel the apple, cut it into small dice, and toss it with the butter and cinnamon. Bake for 12–15 minutes at 190°C, until softened and lightly caramelized.

  2. Heat the milk with the salt until hot, then stir in the oats and reduce the heat.

  3. Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring along the bottom of the pot, until the oatmeal thickens but remains creamy.

  4. Stir in the baked apple, honey, and raisins. Cook for about 1 minute more, just until the additions blend into the oatmeal.

  5. Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl once the apple is soft and warm and the raisins have plumped slightly in the milky base.
