About this recipe

Raspberry oatmeal with yogurt and vanilla is a warm breakfast with a pleasant fruity tang. Oats cooked in milk make a creamy base, raspberries add a lightly tart flavor, and vanilla gives the oatmeal a delicate, dessert-like aroma. Stir in the plain yogurt near the end or after cooking to give the oatmeal a more velvety texture. A teaspoon of honey balances the tartness of the raspberries well. Serve immediately, while the oatmeal is warm, thick, and thoroughly combined.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • 80 g rolled oats

  • 250 ml milk

  • 100 g raspberries

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 teaspoon butter

  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt

  • pinch of vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon honey

Steps

  1. Rinse the raspberries; if they are frozen, let them thaw slightly.

  2. Heat the milk with the salt and butter. Once the butter melts, stir in the oats and combine them with the milky base.

  3. Cook over low heat for 4–5 minutes, until the oats soften, leaving the oatmeal slightly looser because the yogurt will be added at the end.

  4. Stir in the vanilla, honey, and most of the raspberries. Cook for about 1 minute more.

  5. Transfer to a bowl and top with the yogurt and remaining raspberries.
