About this recipe

Banana, cocoa, and peanut butter oatmeal is a filling breakfast with a distinctly dessert-like character. Banana adds natural sweetness, cocoa brings chocolate flavor, and peanut butter makes the oatmeal creamier and more substantial. Cook the oats over low heat, stirring often, so the base stays smooth and does not stick to the pot. Stir the peanut butter thoroughly into the warm oatmeal so it blends with the milk and cocoa. Serve immediately, while the oatmeal is thick and fragrant.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • 80 g rolled oats

  • 250 ml milk

  • 1 banana

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 teaspoon butter

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Steps

  1. Slice the banana, setting aside a few slices to serve on top of the finished oatmeal.

  2. Heat the milk with the salt and butter until the butter melts, then stir in the oats and reduce the heat.

  3. Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring regularly, until the oats form a thick base that will blend well with the cocoa and peanut butter.

  4. Stir in the cocoa, peanut butter, and most of the banana. Cook for about 1 minute more.

  5. Transfer to a bowl, add the remaining banana, and serve immediately.
