About this recipe

A tuna and red bean breakfast salad is a filling no-cook breakfast or quick lunch. Tuna and red beans make a substantial protein base, tomato adds juiciness, and lettuce keeps the salad fresh and light. Drain the tuna and beans thoroughly so the salad does not become watery. Toss the ingredients briefly just before serving so the lettuce does not wilt. This is a simple, filling breakfast salad made with just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • 1/2 can of tuna

  • 100 g red beans

  • 1 tomato

  • a handful of lettuce

  • salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Drain the tuna and beans well, dice the tomato, and tear the lettuce into smaller pieces.

  2. Toss the beans with the tomato and lettuce, then add the tuna at the end so it stays in larger flakes.

  3. Season the salad just before eating so the tomato does not make it watery.

  4. Serve the salad immediately after tossing so the tuna stays in distinct flakes and the tomato juices do not water down the beans and lettuce.
