About this recipe

Cocoa pancakes with banana and yogurt are soft skillet pancakes with a mild chocolate-fruit flavor. The banana adds natural sweetness and moisture, cocoa gives them a dessert-like character, and yogurt served on top balances the sweetness with a fresh, lightly tangy note. Milk and eggs help create the right consistency, while baking powder lightly lifts the pancakes as they cook. Cook them over medium heat so the centers have time to cook through before the cocoa darkens the edges too much.

Ingredients

Servings: 4

  • 1 banana

  • 2 eggs

  • 150 g all-purpose flour

  • 120 ml milk

  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the mashed banana with the eggs, milk, and sugar.

  2. Add the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, and briefly mix to combine.

  3. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes so the banana thickens it along with the flour.

  4. Cook small pancakes for 2–3 minutes per side in a well-heated nonstick skillet without additional fat, maintaining medium heat.

  5. Turn carefully when the tops begin to set, as the cocoa batter is dark and makes browning harder to judge. Serve with plain yogurt.
