About this recipe
Cocoa rice pudding with banana is a filling dessert with a flavor reminiscent of a mild chocolate cream. Cocoa gives the milk base a deeper aroma, while banana adds natural sweetness and a soft, fruity texture. Cook the rice slowly until it is tender and creamy and the cocoa is well blended into the milk. It is best to add the banana near the end, sliced or mashed, depending on whether you want distinct pieces of fruit or a more uniform dessert.
Ingredients
Servings: 2
100 g short-grain dessert rice
500 ml milk
1 banana
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon sugar
Steps
Combine the rinsed rice and milk in a heavy-bottomed pot.
Cook gently for 18–20 minutes, stirring often, until the rice is tender and creamy.
Add the cocoa powder and sugar near the end of cooking, when the rice is almost tender.
Transfer to bowls and add banana slices.
Serve warm; add the banana at the end so it does not break down during cooking.
