About this recipe

Iced coconut coffee is a cold coffee drink made with espresso, coconut milk beverage, maple syrup, cinnamon, and ice cubes. The coconut milk beverage gives it a mildly tropical, smooth flavor, while cinnamon adds a warm aroma that pairs well with coffee and maple syrup. The espresso should be cooled so the ice does not melt too quickly and dilute the coconut base. This is a good recipe for plant-based iced coffee without cow’s milk.

Ingredients

Servings: 1

  • 1 shot espresso

  • 180 ml coconut milk beverage

  • ice cubes

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

  • a pinch of cinnamon

Steps

  1. Brew the espresso and set it aside to cool. Hot coffee will quickly melt the ice and weaken the coconut flavor of the drink.

  2. In a glass or shaker, mix the coconut milk beverage with the maple syrup and cinnamon. Stir a little longer because cinnamon tends to remain on the surface.

  3. Add the ice cubes and pour in the cooled espresso in a thin stream. Stir briefly so the coffee combines with the coconut base.

  4. Serve right away, preferably well chilled. If the cinnamon settles on the bottom, stir the coffee before the next sip.
