About this recipe

Hummus with sun-dried tomatoes is a bold spread made with chickpeas, tahini, garlic, olive oil, and deeply flavored tomatoes. Sun-dried tomatoes add a deep, lightly sweet-and-tangy flavor that makes this hummus more distinctive than the classic version. Tahini lends creaminess and a sesame backdrop, while garlic reinforces the savory profile. If the tomatoes are hard, soak them briefly so they blend more easily with the chickpeas. Serve with bread or raw vegetable sticks, or use it as a quick snack spread.

Ingredients

Servings: 4

  • 1 can chickpeas

  • 3 sun-dried tomatoes

  • 2 tablespoons tahini

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

To serve

  • raw vegetable sticks or bread

Steps

  1. Drain the chickpeas and rinse them in a strainer.

  2. Finely chop the sun-dried tomatoes; if they are very hard, soak them in warm water for a few minutes.

  3. Blend the chickpeas with the tomatoes, tahini, garlic, and olive oil until smooth; if needed, add 1–2 tablespoons water.

  4. Taste, season to taste, and serve with bread or vegetables.
