About this recipe
Roasted chickpeas with smoked paprika are a crunchy snack seasoned with olive oil, salt, and garlic. Dry the chickpeas thoroughly after draining so the oil and seasonings coat the surface evenly. Smoked paprika gives them a deep, lightly smoky flavor, while garlic reinforces their savory character. Once roasted, they work well for snacking, packing into a lunchbox, or adding crunch to a salad. This simple version has a bolder flavor than chickpeas seasoned only with salt and pepper.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
1 can of chickpeas
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
a pinch of salt
a pinch of garlic
Steps
Preheat the oven to 200°C on the convection setting and position a rack in the middle. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then dry them very thoroughly with a towel.
Toss the chickpeas with the olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and garlic.
Spread the chickpeas loosely in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Roast for 20–25 minutes, stirring after about 12 minutes, until the chickpeas are browned and dry on the surface.
Cool uncovered on the baking sheet in a single layer for 5 minutes; serve once the steam has escaped and the chickpeas are crisp.
