About this recipe
Tofu and sesame wraps are a plant-based snack made with tortillas, carrot, cucumber, and pieces of tofu. Neutral-tasting tofu provides a filling base, the vegetables add crunch, and sesame brings a lightly nutty note. Cut the carrot and cucumber into thin strips so the wraps are easy to roll and do not tear when sliced. If the tofu is moist, pat it dry beforehand so it does not make the tortillas soggy. This simple meat-free wrap recipe works well for a lunchbox, a quick snack, or a light dinner.
Ingredients
Servings: 2
2 flour tortillas
160 g tofu
1 carrot
1/2 cucumber
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon soy sauce (replaces salt)
1 teaspoon canola oil
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/8 teaspoon pepper
80 g hummus
Steps
Pat the tofu dry thoroughly and cut it into sticks about 1 cm thick. Toss with the soy sauce, smoked paprika, and pepper.
Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the tofu for 6–8 minutes, turning every 2 minutes, until browned on several sides. Cut the carrot and cucumber into thin strips.
Spread each tortilla with 40 g hummus, then arrange half the tofu and vegetables on each and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Fold the sides of each tortilla inward, roll into a tight wrap, and cut in half. Serve right away.
