About this recipe
Avocado and twaróg spread is a creamy topping for bread that makes a quick breakfast or light dinner. Avocado provides a smooth texture and mild flavor, twaróg makes the spread more satisfying, and lemon juice brightens it while helping reduce browning. Mash the ingredients with a fork so the mixture stays creamy but retains a little texture. Season at the end with salt, pepper, or a small amount of herbs. Serve immediately on bread or toast, with tomato, cucumber, or sprouts.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
1 avocado
120 g twaróg (Polish farmer’s cheese)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
4 slices bread
1/4 teaspoon salt
a pinch of black pepper
Steps
Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and mash the flesh with the lemon juice.
Add the twaróg and mash everything with a fork into a creamy spread with small pieces remaining.
Season with salt and pepper; the lemon juice should gently cut through the richness of the avocado.
Serve immediately on bread, before the avocado begins to brown.
