About this recipe

Brownie with cherries combines dairy-free dark chocolate and plant-based butter with fruit that adds a pronounced tartness. The cherries balance the sweetness of the chocolate batter and keep each bite from tasting one-note. The eggs help the center set, while the flour gives the brownie a dense structure. Avoid overbaking so it stays soft and slightly moist.

Ingredients

Servings: 8

  • 150 g dairy-free dark chocolate

  • 120 g plant-based butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 100 g sugar

  • 120 g cherries

  • 80 g all-purpose flour

Steps

  1. Melt the dairy-free dark chocolate with the plant-based butter, then set aside for a few minutes to cool slightly.

  2. Briefly mix the eggs with the sugar so the brownie remains dense and moist.

  3. Combine the chocolate mixture with the eggs, then fold in the flour just before adding the cherries.

  4. Arrange the cherries evenly over the batter so each piece has a fruity center.

  5. Bake the brownie with cherries at 170°C for 22–28 minutes; the center may remain slightly moist.

  6. Cut the brownie only after it has cooled completely and the cherry juices no longer run.
