About this recipe

Walnut brownies are intensely chocolatey bars with a crisp, nutty contrast. Dairy-free dark chocolate provides deep flavor, plant-based butter creates a moist texture, and walnuts bring a distinct crunch to the soft center. Eggs give the batter structure, while a small amount of flour keeps the brownies dense but not dry. Slice them only after they have cooled completely and the chocolate center has set.

Ingredients

Servings: 8

  • 150 g dairy-free dark chocolate

  • 120 g plant-based butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 100 g sugar

  • 60 g walnuts

  • 80 g all-purpose flour

Steps

  1. Break up the dairy-free chocolate, melt it with the plant-based butter, and let cool before adding it to the eggs.

  2. Stir the eggs and sugar together briefly, keeping the mixture thick rather than aerated.

  3. Combine the cooled chocolate with the eggs, then add the flour and walnuts.

  4. Stir about 40 g of the chopped walnuts into the batter, then scatter the remaining 20 g over the top.

  5. Bake the walnut brownies at 170°C for 22–28 minutes; the center may remain slightly moist.

  6. Let the brownies cool before slicing so the walnut-filled center cuts cleanly into even pieces.
