About this recipe

Date and cocoa bars are a dense, sweet no-bake dessert made with dates, gluten-free rolled oats, cocoa powder, peanut butter, and honey. The dates make the mixture naturally sticky, the peanut butter adds flavor and helps bind it, and the cocoa gives the bars their chocolate character. If the dates are very dry, soak them first and drain them well. Press the mixture firmly into the pan and chill it so the bars slice neatly.

Ingredients

Servings: 8

  • 120 g dates

  • 80 g gluten-free rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter

  • 1 tablespoon honey

Steps

  1. Cover the dates with warm water for a few minutes if they are very dry, then drain them.

  2. Blend the dates with the cocoa powder, peanut butter, and honey.

  3. Add the gluten-free rolled oats and mix into a thick mixture.

  4. Press it into a small pan and chill for at least 30 minutes.

  5. Cut into bars after chilling.
