About this recipe
Blueberry iced tea is a chilled drink made with green tea, blueberries, honey, and ice cubes. Green tea provides a lighter, gently vegetal base, while blueberries add fruity flavor, color, and mild sweetness. Steep the tea briefly, since an overly strong brew can overpower the fruit. This recipe works well for homemade iced tea when you want something fresh, less sweet, and fruitier than regular iced tea.
Ingredients
Servings: 2
2 green tea bags
150 g blueberries
800 ml water
1 tablespoon honey
ice cubes
Steps
Steep the green tea for 2–3 minutes, then remove the tea bags right away. Longer steeping can make the brew too astringent.
Rinse the blueberries and lightly crush some of them with the honey. Leave a few whole for serving.
Mix the cooled green tea with the blueberries and chill in the refrigerator. The fruit needs a moment to gently color the tea.
Serve with ice cubes and whole blueberries. Stir before pouring so the fruit juice does not remain at the bottom of the pitcher.
