About this recipe
Orange iced tea is a milder drink made with black tea, orange, honey, and ice. The orange adds sweetness and citrus aroma with gentler acidity than lemon or grapefruit. Black tea provides a flavorful base, while honey highlights the fruit without making the drink syrupy. It is a good choice when you want homemade iced tea with a delicate citrus profile.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
2 black tea bags
1 orange
800 ml water
1 tablespoon honey
ice cubes
Steps
Steep the black tea for 3–4 minutes, then remove the tea bags. Let the tea cool slightly.
Wash the orange, squeeze out some of the juice, and reserve a few thin slices for the pitcher. Remove the seeds.
Mix the slightly cooled tea with the honey and orange juice. Add the slices and chill the drink in the refrigerator.
Serve with ice cubes. If the orange slices sit in the tea for a long time, remove them so the peel does not release too much bitterness.
