About this recipe

Peach iced tea is a homemade drink made with black tea, ripe peaches, honey, and ice. The peaches add natural sweetness and fruit aroma, while briefly steeped black tea provides a distinct, lightly tannic base without a heavy aftertaste. Stir in the honey once the tea has cooled slightly so it blends in easily. This pitcher drink is well suited to serving when you want something cold, fruity, and less sweet than a ready-made beverage.

Ingredients

Servings: 4

  • 2 black tea bags

  • 2 peaches

  • 800 ml water

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • ice cubes

Steps

  1. Steep the black tea in hot water for 3–4 minutes, then remove the tea bags right away. Steeping it too long creates an astringent flavor that overpowers the peaches.

  2. Wash and pit the peaches, then cut them into thin slices or small dice. Lightly crush some of the fruit if you want it to release its juice more quickly.

  3. Once the tea has cooled slightly, stir in the honey and add the peaches. Refrigerate for 30–45 minutes so the fruit infuses the tea.

  4. Serve with ice cubes and peach pieces. Stir the pitcher before pouring, as the fruit juice may collect at the bottom.
