About this recipe
Iced tea with apple and cinnamon is a chilled version of tea with a lightly spiced, fruity flavor. Black tea creates a distinct base, apple adds natural sweetness, and a piece of cinnamon stick brings a warm aroma without the need for syrup. Honey softens the tea and helps bring together the apple and spice flavors. This drink works well when you want to make iced tea that is less citrusy and more delicate and spiced.
Ingredients
Servings: 2
2 black tea bags
1 apple
800 ml water
a small piece of cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon honey
ice cubes
Steps
Steep the black tea for 3–4 minutes, then remove the tea bags. Add the piece of cinnamon stick to the hot tea so it can begin to release its aroma.
Wash the apple, remove the core, and cut it into thin slices or small dice. It does not need to be peeled if the skin is thin.
When the tea has cooled slightly, add the honey and apple. Chill the drink in the refrigerator, leaving the cinnamon stick in the pitcher only until its aroma is clearly noticeable.
Serve with ice cubes and apple pieces. If the cinnamon starts to dominate, remove the stick before chilling for longer.
