About this recipe

Cinnamon latte is a mild coffee drink with espresso, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and a little sugar. The espresso provides a distinct coffee base, the milk softens the flavor, and the cinnamon adds a warm, lightly spiced aroma. Vanilla pairs well with milk and gives the latte a more dessert-like flavor without adding heavy extras. It is best served right after combining the espresso with the hot milk base, when the cinnamon aroma is most noticeable.

Ingredients

Servings: 1

  • 1 shot espresso

  • 220 ml milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • a pinch of vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Steps

  1. Brew the espresso just before heating the milk so the coffee retains a distinct aroma in the finished drink.

  2. Heat 220 ml milk for 2–3 minutes. You can also froth it, but do not bring it to a vigorous boil.

  3. Stir 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, a pinch of vanilla, and 1 teaspoon sugar into the hot milk.

  4. Pour the espresso into a mug and top it with the warm milk mixture. Serve immediately, before the cinnamon begins to settle at the bottom.
