About this recipe

Ginger-lemon shot is an intense drink made with plenty of fresh ginger, lemon juice, honey, water, and a pinch of turmeric. Ginger provides a strong, spicy flavor, lemon adds acidity, and honey softens the heat and balances the mixture. Turmeric deepens the color and adds a warm spice note, but it should not overpower the ginger. Blend the ingredients thoroughly and strain the drink for a smoother, more concentrated consistency.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • about a 5 cm piece of fresh ginger

  • 2 lemons

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 100 ml water

  • a pinch of turmeric

Steps

  1. Peel and finely chop the ginger, then squeeze the juice from the lemons.

  2. Blend the ginger with the water, lemon juice, honey, and turmeric.

  3. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and press the pulp firmly so the shot is intense but free of fibers.

  4. Serve in small portions; store the remainder in the refrigerator for no more than 1–2 days.
