About this recipe

Mango lassi is a thick fruit drink made with mango, plain yogurt, water, honey, and cardamom. Mango gives it vivid color, sweetness, and a creamy texture; yogurt adds a light tang; and cardamom contributes a delicate warm-spice aroma. Water thins the mixture so the lassi remains easy to drink. Serve it as a dessert-style smoothie or alongside a light meal.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • 200 g mango

  • 250 g plain yogurt

  • 100 ml water

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • a pinch of cardamom

Steps

  1. If using fresh mango, peel it, cut the flesh away from the pit, and cut it into smaller pieces.

  2. Add the ingredients to a blender: 200 g mango, 250 g plain yogurt, 100 ml water, 1 teaspoon honey, and a pinch of cardamom.

  3. Blend the mango with the yogurt, water, honey, and cardamom until the lassi is smooth. If the mango is very thick, add the water gradually.

  4. Taste before serving and make sure the cardamom does not overpower the fruit. Serve well chilled.
