About this recipe
Orange and rosemary infused water is an aromatic drink made with orange, lemon, rosemary, water, and ice. Orange provides a mild, sweet citrus flavor, lemon adds fresh contrast, and rosemary contributes an herbal, lightly resinous aroma. Use thin fruit slices and a single rosemary sprig so the herb does not dominate the drink. This pitcher infusion works well when you want a less-sweet citrus-and-herb profile.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
1 liter water
1 orange
a sprig of rosemary
ice cubes
1/2 lemon
Steps
Slice the orange and lemon thinly, removing any visible seeds. Lightly rub the rosemary sprig between your hands.
Place the citrus and rosemary in a pitcher, pour in cold water, and add ice cubes. Do not crush the rosemary too firmly, or it may become too intense.
Chill the water for 10–15 minutes, until the orange and lemon release their aroma. If the drink will sit longer, remove the rosemary before the citrus.
Serve well chilled. Gently stir before pouring so the citrus flavor is distributed throughout the pitcher.
