About this recipe
Turkey burgers with roasted potatoes make a complete meal with turkey patties, warm buns, and a simple oven-roasted side. Ground turkey mixed with egg forms a tender mixture; if it is soft, chill it briefly before pan-frying or baking. Roasting the potatoes separately browns them and provides a lighter home-style alternative to classic french fries. Tomato adds freshness to the burgers and balances the flavor of the meat. Serve immediately after assembling, while the patties are hot, the buns lightly warmed, and the potatoes still crisp around the edges.
Ingredients
Servings: 4
400 g ground turkey
1 egg
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 burger buns
500 g potatoes
1 tomato
Steps
Preheat a conventional oven (no fan) to 210°C. Cut the potatoes into wedges about 2 cm thick and toss with 1 tablespoon of oil and half the paprika, salt, and pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet and bake on the middle rack for 10 minutes.
Mix the ground turkey with the egg and the remaining seasonings. Shape into four evenly thick patties about 2 cm thick and brush them with the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil.
Stir the potatoes, arrange the patties next to them, and bake everything for 18–22 minutes. Turn the patties after about 10 minutes; continue baking until browned and cooked through in the center.
Place the split buns in the oven for the final 2 minutes of baking. Cut the tomato into four slices.
Fill each bun with a patty and a tomato slice. Serve immediately with the roasted potatoes.
