About this recipe

Cheese, grape, and walnut skewers combine sweet and savory flavors. The cheese adds savory flavor and makes the snack more substantial, grapes add juicy sweetness, and walnuts bring crunch and a slightly bitter note. Add pepper just before serving to balance the fruit’s sweetness. Halve the walnuts so they stay securely on the toothpicks. These simple no-cook cold skewers work well on a platter, at a gathering, or as a small snack.

Ingredients

Servings: 6

  • 120 g mild semi-hard cheese

  • 12 grapes

  • 6 walnuts

  • a pinch of pepper

Steps

  1. Cut the cheese into even cubes and halve the walnuts.

  2. Thread cheese, a grape, and a piece of walnut onto toothpicks.

  3. Arrange the skewers on a plate so the grapes do not get crushed.

  4. Sprinkle the skewers with pepper just before serving, and keep them chilled if they are not going straight to the table.
