About this recipe
Date and cocoa balls are a small sweet snack made with rolled oats, peanut butter, and shredded coconut. Soaked dates blend easily and provide the natural sweetness and stickiness needed to shape the balls. Cocoa adds chocolate flavor, while peanut butter makes the snack creamier and more filling. Use the shredded coconut as an optional coating for a delicate coconut finish. These simple no-bake energy balls are meant to be chilled and also work in a lunchbox or as a quick dessert.
Ingredients
Servings: 10
120 g dates
60 g rolled oats
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon shredded coconut
Steps
If the dates are dry, cover them with warm water for a few minutes, then drain well so the mixture does not turn out too thin.
Blend them with the oats, cocoa powder, and peanut butter.
Shape into balls and, if needed, roll them in coconut.
Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving so the mixture sets better.
