About this recipe
Popcorn with paprika and butter is a quick homemade snack seasoned with salt and pepper. Butter helps the seasonings cling to the freshly popped corn, while paprika adds color and a mild savory note. Salt enhances the flavor, while pepper adds contrast to the mild, buttery flavor. Shake the pot during popping so the kernels pop evenly without burning on the bottom. Serve this simple popcorn warm for a movie, a gathering, or a quick snack.
Ingredients
Servings: 2
80 g popcorn kernels
1 tablespoon clarified butter
1/2 teaspoon paprika
a pinch of salt
a pinch of pepper
Steps
Heat the clarified butter in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add 3 popcorn kernels and cover.
When the test kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels, cover, and shake the pot every few seconds. Remove from the heat when the pauses between pops lengthen to about 2–3 seconds.
Immediately transfer the popcorn to a bowl and sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Mix thoroughly and serve slightly warm.
